This month as we move into March, and hopefully Spring, I thought it would be good to feature the “Primavera” model of pram which was made by Silver Cross under their top of the range Wilson brand.
Primavera means “springtime” in many languages, and lots of us begin to think of spring flowers, therefore this pram is appropriately named with its ceramic plaque featuring a floral motif.

This is a somewhat unusual model as it is on a sprung chassis, with wheels 18″ and 16″ but is also a “droptoe” model as it has a concealed foot extension. Silver Cross made several prams with this kind of extension, enabling them to be used from birth until the child reached toddler stage and needed more space to sit comfortably.
They were marketed as being “dual purpose models” and cost 27 guineas! I have never seen a pram like this and would imagine it is quite rare, making it worth a lot more than that today!
It is always good to hear from you, so

Hi Lucy – what a pretty little pram! I’m not a fan of droptoe prams (the ones I have seen have been plain black (usually) and quite uninteresting)or mudguards, but there is something about this one that really appeals to me. I do like the colourway – burgundy and white is always striking I think. Thanks for featuring this – always good to know that there are still models out there that I haven’t yet seen!
Thank you Karen, yes it’s a sweet little pram isn’t it and I love the name Primavera.
It is a pretty pram and I never liked drop-toe ones either but this doesn’t look obvious. It is is very stylish, typical of Silver Cross/Wilson
Hi iv never seen this pram before, think it lovely so usual, never believe it was a drop-toe xx
the wheels look to big for a droptoe i love droptoes and i am so lucky to own one and as someone pointed out yes they were black but mine has been resprayed body and chassis and is totally baby friendly and is used at least once a week ter carry my grandaughter in the one above is unusual but my preference is smaller wheels lyn x
