For Fans of Silver Cross and all Vintage Prams

This month’s Pram of the Month is the Vanity model by Pedigree, from 1964. The pram had a feature moulded side panel and the hood and apron were in Merimo fabric.

Pedigree prams were very popular, they were often slightly less expensive than some other makes, but nevertheless they were sturdy prams and many have survived over the years.

Did you have a Pedigree pram for your baby or do you still own a Pedigree pram? If so do leave a comment on the website as other Vintage Pram Fans love to read what others have to say.

I’ve always loved the prams with large wheels that overlap such as on the Pedigree model above. To me, those larger wheels give an extra look of elegance to the pram.

I bought a Pedigree baby pram on Ebay a couple of years ago to restore, she didn’t need much restoration as she was well built and sturdy and had been looked after,I think she is one of my best buys, sold her on to a theatre company and was amazed to see her later on the series CALL THE MIDWIFE, what a little star!

My husband bought me a Pedigree Pram in 1970 when our son was born, I love that pram and cannot part with it, still looks like day one.

I just read your newsletter this morning and how weird I popped into my fav antique store and what do I see but a Pedigree pram, course I had to have it. It’s a tin bodied one in dark green with a silver stripe on the side the body lifts off the chassis and is complete with matching pram bag. Condition is good just a quick wipe down needed and the chrome polished. The handle has a white rubber type handgrip no idea how old it is.

I quite agree David, my Marmet Viceroy has large wheels, looks elegant and helps with a softer journey for baby. Used my pram up until 2yrs ago for my grandson, hope I can use it again but now need hood and apron replaced.
