EVENTS FOR 2013

Further reminders about events for this year,

first ones in March!

Why not get together with a group of prammie friends

and attend together.

Do get in touch by leaving a comment on the website

www.vintagepramfan.com

and let us know which events you are attending.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a pram from the era specified, most people have little idea of how old a coachbuilt pram is likely to be, so it doesn’t really matter if you take a 1970s pram to a 1940s event, although it is better if you can dress yourself and your baby in outfits fitting to the period.

Last year a number of us met in the north of England at various pram walks and were also invited to display our prams at Classic Car Events, hopefully I should have 2013 dates of these soon to add on the website. But in the meantime, check out the listings below, the events shown are all around the UK so there should be something near you.

I think most areas are covered, but none in Scotland. There are vintage pram fans in Scotland so if you know of an event there do let me know so others can find out more.

If you are hoping to go to an event then do add a comment by going to the website www.VintagePramFan.com so arrangements can be made for others to meet you there.  We can make 2013 a year when more of us get together to show off our prams, this a good way to meet other pram enthusiasts and spread the word that our prams are just as important as other classic vehicles!

The listings shown here are a guide only, please check out the contact details shown in each listing for more details. I will update the listings as more information is submitted.

Don’t forget to contact me if you are organising a pram event so I can add it to the list.

There is an event called “Step back to the 1940′s” at Severn Valley railway, Kidderminster 29th June, beginning of July. I’ll be going as it’s near my home town.

Vintage Coachbuilt Pram Walk & Afternoon Tea,Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester 6th july 2013 details to follow

  3. Lucy says:

I have been in touch with Port Sunlight in The Wirrall about hiring a hall there for a pram event this summer, with a buffet meal. They are going to get back to me with dates so as soon as I know I will post details. Once we book the event details will be published in Port Sunlights own magazine so everyone living or visiting there will be aware of us going, which should make it a very successful event. We anticipate the cost will be approx £8 per person which includes hiring the hall for a display of prams and an excellent buffet. cost may be less, depending on numbers.

  4. lyn says:

    • lyn says:

it doesnt really matter margaret i wouldnt wear fancy dress as 1 my prams are not the age of the victorian ones so if i went would just bring one of me ladies and normal dress i know some of the girls wear the dress and they look the part and its givin people insight into the history of the prams and the insight of how yer baby was dressed in those days all in all it sounds a great day in all so go fer it hun one day i may go myself lyn xx

      • Lucy says:

Thank you for these comments, like Linda says, some ladies really put in a lot of effort to wear outfits appropriate to the era of their prams, I wouldn’t describe it as ‘fancy dress’ however, better described as outfits suitable to the age of the pram.

    • Hazel says:

There are several in that area Dee, hopefully they may read this. If you have a facebook account you could also join some of the groups on there, search for ‘vintage prams’ and they should come up.

I am having an exhibition of vintage prams and toys in Prestonpans Library Prestonpans East Lothian from 31st May until 5th June. The event is part of our local 3Harbours Arts Festival and there will be a knit and knatter afternoon as well as weaving workshops alongside my display. Childrens storytelling and competition to design a miniture garden in a tin are also planned. There are many other arts events running from Prestonpans to Port Seton throughout the week. The festival kicks off with a parade on the friday 31st at 6pm to which I am taking my prams so if there are any ladies near my area please join me. I am on facebook under Pan’s Prams for more info.
